Inspired Modern Living
Located in the heart of the Arizona desert, this project began with a blank slate —
only the primary residence stood on the land. The casita, pool, detached garage,
and outdoor living spaces — all an intricate balance of architecture and landscape
— were designed from the ground up. From the outset, the goal was clear: to craft
an oasis that balanced luxury with livability. Every element had to be intentional,
blending seamless functionality with striking aesthetics.
What makes this project so compelling is its mix of volumes, intrinsically defining
height and depth. Sunken lounges draw the eye downward; floating pathways
create a sense of suspension; and tiered terraces intuitively guide movement.
Water, stone, and structure engage in a dynamic conversation.
At the heart of the design is a resort-style pool, where water appears to hover at
different planes to mirror the varied elevations of the architecture. Floating steps,
integrated lounge areas, cascading edges, and subtle lighting define the transitions.
The outdoor kitchen and dining area command a presence that's slightly elevated
from the rest, offering a panoramic view.
Native plantings, textured hardscapes, and strategic lighting amplify the experience,
shifting the atmosphere from sun-drenched minimalism by day to an intimate,
illuminated retreat by night.
