certification by carefully balancing natural and manmade elements, this design demonstrates true sustainability using shade, natural ventilation, local materials, and sympathy with the Florida landscape.

FACING PAGE: The challenge for this Sarasota Bay home was to "build the house of the future today" — and a large part of this goal was to create a home that reduced dependency on the power grid with a focus on nature.
The result is now one of the highest rated sustainable homes constructed in Florida and the United States with a HERS Index of -26. Third party performance testing includes LEED Platinum Certification, Florida Green
