This Northern California home was part of the 1950s midcentury modern movement that emphasized single-story construction, open floor plans, floor-to-ceiling
windows in front and back, and interior three-quarter height walls to allow light in. The owners of this gem wanted to update the space inside while maintaining the
architectural details and connection to the outdoors.
Entertaining was a priority for them, as they frequently hosted gatherings of family and friends. They also wanted to incorporate their antique Asian screen. The
updated entry features a new custom front door while, inside, new contemporary furniture, layered lighting, and distinctive artwork bring the living and dining area to
life. The resulting design gives the home a clean-lined elegance while maintaining its day-to-day livability.
