Masters of Landscape Lighting
ABOVE AND FACING PAGE: This serene garden, located in the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum's Bonita and Scott Fisher Japanese Garden, was designed by
landscape architect Koichi Kawana in 1985. It's called Seisui-Tei — the "Garden of Pure Water" — and it's a peaceful space to stop and reflect. The landscape lighting design
ensures that all its enchantment is felt just as much at night as during the daytime hours. Hidden lights throughout highlight the flowing waterfall and the sculptural trees and rocks
while enhancing the reflective quality of the water.
