188 Masters of Landscape Lighting TOP LEFT: Nestled deep in the Texas Hill Country, this remarkable ranch features a 150-foot bluff with a cascading waterfall that feeds into a creek before joining the Llano River. On the left side of the bluff, a small cave holds a tiny amber LED light, creating the illusion of a glowing campfire tucked within the rock. The surrounding park area is downlit in 2700K, the waterfall illuminated in 4000K, and the trees in 3000K — an intentional blend of color temperatures that brings richness and dimension to the entire scene. BOTTOM LEFT: This newly renovated, modern lake house on Lake LBJ in Horseshoe Bay, Texas, is both beautiful and full of life. The team designed the lighting to provide ample safety along the pool, boat dock, and floating lake deck, while also ensuring that anyone inside the home experienced zero glare through the windows. ABOVE: This custom hilltop compound in Central Texas was another creative yet highly rewarding challenge. In collaboration with Lumien Lighting and Jackson Lighting Supply, hundreds of LED marker lights were installed along the winding driveway. Because the property includes its own observatory, every detail required careful control of ambient light. As with many of Texas Outdoor Lighting's projects, the entire system is integrated into the homeowner's phone, allowing them to dim or turn off all lighting with ease, making the property completely dark whenever they want to enjoy the stars. FACING PAGE: This uniquely designed ranch home is tucked into the hillside, directly across the bluff from the waterfall. With the property's significant elevation changes, the team focused on creating a safely lit environment that remains fully Dark Sky friendly. The result allows the clients — and even their neighbors across the river — to enjoy the sweeping, star-filled Texas nights without distraction. Photography courtesy of Texas Outdoor Lighting
