187 Texas Outdoor Lighting began not with a fleet of trucks or a warehouse full of equipment, but with an old blue Saturn sedan and two people determined to bring a new kind of beauty to the Texas night. When Joel and Beth Mayor founded the company in 2007, they were driven by a simple belief: that exceptional outdoor lighting could transform any property, making it safer, more inviting, and undeniably striking. Fast forward 18 years, and the veteran-owned company now has a team of highly skilled installers and that fleet of commercial vehicles and trailers to complete projects all over the Lone Star State — and even outside the country. Texas Outdoor Lighting has become known for its highly personalized designs that are not just functional, but truly luxuriou, and they've built a reputation grounded in integrity, honesty, and meticulous craftsmanship. ILILTEXAS OUTDOOR LIGHTING AUSTIN, TX Whether illuminating a family home, a sprawling ranch, a lakeside estate, or a commercial property in need of brighter, safer entryways, their work always bears the unmistakable stamp of artistry. Whether it's a modest installation or a fully tailored lighting masterplan, each project is approached as a unique creative challenge, sometimes requiring custom-built fixtures designed specifically for the property. From a single sedan to a statewide operation, Texas Outdoor Lighting's story is one of passion, creativity, and a belief that light — done well — can change the way people experience their world. . Before installation, the historic façade was illuminated only by an aging pole light, leaving the building largely in shadow. In collaboration with Jackson Lighting Supply and IlluminFX , the team developed a precise lighting plan using custom optics on IlluminFX's well lights to achieve the perfect result. The project was born from an unexpected moment: Joel and Beth happened to get lost in Downtown San Antonio one night and noticed just how dimly lit the Alamo was.
