Part Two: The Braverman Family 69 4, 1971. Svetlana is a graduate of the choral conducting department of a music school, and now works as a kindergarten music teacher and pop singing coach. Yuri describes her as a "very loyal person, with a kind, open heart." They have two children, Slava and Inna. A talented musician like his parents, Slava graduated om the A.K. Lyadov Music School and the A. Shnitke Moscow State Institute of Music with a major in percussive instruments. While still at the music school, Slava took an active part in the performances given by the Gnessin Institute as a xylophone soloist, accompanied by an orchestra of folk musical instruments. The public loved him and always gave him an enthusiastic reception. Relatives including "Aunt Lyuba" (Lyubov) and "Uncle Sasha" (Iosif) Volsun attended these performances and enjoyed them enormously. When Slava's great-aunt Zhenya came to Moscow to perform, she invited Slava to play with her band. Currently, Slava plays in bands, performs at various events, tours, and teaches. Yuri beams that Slava "is a talented musician, a gregarious person with a positive attitude, and just an overall great guy." In 1979, Yuri, Svetlana, and brother Slava welcomed baby Inna into the world. Yet another musician, Inna studied dancing and vocals, took lessons om a renowned pop singing coach, and graduated om music school and the Moscow State Pedagogical University. She works as an educational supervisor at a kindergarten in addition to teaching dance. Her father describes her as an outstanding actor who is "very lithe and has a great voice." Raya's marriage to Mikhail Oradovsky lasted only a few years. Soon aer their son Alexander was born in 1963, they divorced. Her ex-husband remarried and lives with his new family in Israel. In keeping with her character and values, Zina helped Raya raise Alexander. Zina died in 1986 and is buried in Malakhovka Cemetery next to her mother, Malka. Rosa Braverman Kiderman Rosa Braverman Kiderman Rosa was born in Kamenets-Podolsk and married Dmitry Kiderman in 1947 in Moscow. Always a devout Zionist, Rosa celebrated the creation of Israel in 1948. She made aliyah to Israel aer Dmitry's death to be with her sister Zhenya. She worked in the Ministry of Trade in Moscow for many years and moved to Israel aer Dmitry's death. She was very active in issuing Russians invitations to visit and to live in Israel. Iosif believes that she was responsible for hundreds of Russians moving to the country. Rosa died in 1998 and is buried in Tel Aviv, Israel. Dmitry, born in 1920, died somewhat mysteriously by drowning in a river near Moscow in 1973. Nobody knows if it was an accident. Aer Rosa and Dmitry were married, they lived in Reutov. When their son Aleksander was seven years old, the family moved to Kraskovo and bought a home. Dmitry opened a successful small business, and eventually became relatively wealthy.
