ELEVATION 1147
gourmet pairings
Beef, duck, and lamb dishes pair best with the wine.
tasting notes
The wine is dark garnet red and nearly opaque
with a deep core. The aromas are multi-layered and
complex with baked cherries and black currant jam, followed by violets, dark chocolate,
and hints of fennel seed and pecans. The texture is sweet with tannin and carries a broad
expansive texture with a bold full palate concentration and long finish. The palate finishes
with flavors of dark chocolate, espresso bean, baked plums, and boysenberry.
winemaker's insight
Our Elevation 1147 always represents the best of the best from David Arthur. The vineyard
we source the wine's fruit from sits at an elevation of 1,147 feet above sea level. These
few rows of vines have been consistent in their exceptional quality and intriguing flavor
profile, inspiring us to bottle the Elevation 1147 as a single-vineyard cabernet sauvignon in
a very limited production.
