5 Entertaining was at the forefront of every decision in this kitchen. I wanted to create a space that could handle the energy of a full house while still feeling comfortable and effortless for everyday life. The generous layout, expansive island, and thoughtfully planned work areas allow cooking and hosting to happen simultaneously without one getting in the way of the other. The island became the heart of that idea. Its scale creates a strong focal point, while seating for five gives family and friends a comfortable place to gather. I especially love the stepped wood countertop. It adds warmth and a sculptural quality while cleverly incorporating the necessary electrical components into the design. The quartzite was another defining choice. Its dramatic movement immediately draws your eye and works beautifully with the cabinetry and wood tones. That same sense of movement carries into the custom fireplace design, creating another strong architectural moment and extending the visual story beyond the kitchen. Lighting was equally important. Pendants reinforce the scale and symmetry of the island, while layers of light allow the atmosphere to shift depending on how the space is being used. Ultimately, this kitchen is about much more than preparing meals. From the statement fireplace to the way the room functions when it's full of people, every element was considered to create a space that feels distinctive, inviting, and made for the way this family lives..
