In addition to the day school, Summit has an Outreach Center of experts that provide comprehensive evaluations, tutoring, and speech-language therapy. WHAT IS A COMPREHENSIVE EVALUATION? Summit's Outreach Services provide comprehensive evaluations for children and adults to diagnose dyslexia, other reading problems, learning differences, speech and language difficulties, and academic skill deficits. A comprehensive evaluation includes assessment of strengths and weaknesses in cognitive processing, memory, and academic achievement in reading, math, and written language. In addition, processing speed and oral language abilities are included to compile an in-depth understanding of the individual's learning profile. An extensive written report and a final conference with the family or the individual are provided. This report is a roadmap to guide interventions, strategies, and accommodations. TUTORING AND SPEECH-LANGUAGE THERAPY: Summit's tutors are teachers who are highly trained to teach reading, math, written language, and organization/study skills, as well as SAT/ college entrance exam preparation. Most of Summit's tutors have master's degrees in education. Tutoring services are offered to students in elementary school through high school. Adults who want to improve their reading are tutored, as well. Speech-language therapy is provided by licensed and certified speech language pathologists. Children and young adults who struggle with speech articulation, word retrieval, receptive language, and organization of expressive language benefit from these services. SUMMIT OUTREACH SERVICES
