Expanding the Campus Welcoming its first residents to Shenandoah Hall in 1987, the property celebrated the occasion with a formal gathering, setting the scene for the warm, personal atmosphere that has only been enhanced with time. The footprint of the grounds soon evolved to reflect the newly expanded acreage while more wholly accommodating a full range of options for residents' ultimate comfort. A cottages project, launched in 1992, brought with it 20 spacious two-bedroom, two-bath duplex units that provided a more traditional home-like living environment. Subsequent stages of the cottage program created 29 additional units, each with similarly pleasant style and landscaped appeal, with the final homes finished in April 2004. The expansion continued with the groundbreaking ceremony for Winchester Hall in 2005. Completed two years later, the new complex featured 64 large apartments with home-like appointments, along with the Vitality Center's indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi and fitness center. The most recent project began in July of 2014 with Health Care/Memory Support renovations and addition of rooms. The Vitality Center will expand with an art studio, a mind gym, demonstration kitchen, wellness library, aerobic studio, fitness room, plus meeting spaces and lounges for residents and guests to socialize.
