"Ongoing problem solving throughout the process is a basic tenet of
good design." —Karen Cole
ABOVE: The master bedroom and en suite bath are great examples of
pushing the limits of scale and proportion. Design rules are broken in
this bathroom, which features so many windows that we actually hung
mirrors in front of one expanse and placed a pair of sinks beneath them.
The light fixtures in both rooms are oversized, but each of them works in
the design. I love how the bed grounds the space in the bedroom. The
combination is handsome, but serene and easy. The little pop of color
goes a long way.

FACING PAGE: A personal collection of photos is artfully displayed on the
wall over a pair of striped velvet chaises. The photos give the room a very
personal touch, and I love the harmonious variety in the living room. The
perfect symmetry and the array of sentimental artifacts adds personality
and punch.
