Food, Fun and Fabulous 106 When guests arrive, you always want to offer them a drink, cool in the spring and summer, warm in the fall and winter. A sparkling beverage is a nice touch any time of year. If you make it just a little bit fancy, you're setting a tone of excitement right from the beginning. Whether you're indoors or out, it's ideal to host the party somewhere with good views of nature. Set the tables with an extra layer of linens so the look is sumptu- ous and feminine. Top them with groupings of apples or other seasonal fruit, moss, and other nature- inspired elements. Decorate the whole setting with lots of flowers, paying particular attention to the centerpieces, since they'll be enjoyed throughout the afternoon. Inspired by Martha Stewart, at our pink and green bridesmaid's luncheon we made a cornice of rosebuds by hot-gluing the heads onto foam board cut to fill the corner. We tied monogrammed chiffon "take home" scarves on each guest's chair. After all, girls love anything monogrammed! Stage a Luncheon with Style
