Tablescape is our go-to word for beautiful
presentations of all sorts of food. Food can't just
taste good, it needs to be beautifully presented
too. You could spend thousands of dollars on
gorgeous serveware and dinnerware—and
goodness knows it's fun—but really you just need
the basics and a few great accessories to create
a beautiful tablescape. This tablescape functions
as both a lush centerpiece and bountiful spread.
To complete this mouth-watering arrangement,
add cut vegetable dippers, assorted cheeses and
crackers, and other finger foods to the colorful
vegetable foundation.
Building a base:
A coffee table provides a convenient location for
the appetizer buffet. To build the foundation for
the vegetables, begin by positioning large serving
pieces. To protect the table surface, select a piece
for the front that will cover a large area. Or, if
desired, cover the table with plastic wrap.
Later you can tuck the excess edges of the wrap
underneath the vegetables. Choose a variety
of bowls, baskets, and platters to lend textural
