147 It's always a delight when brides-to-be bring new ideas to the table. In this case, the bride's home was to serve as the start for the big day. The bride had always dreamed of a beautiful, luxurious wedding, but she also wanted to create a high-energy fun party at the reception. Staging the ceremony in the mature gardens of her home made for an absolutely stunning event. Sparkling ponds, lush shrubbery, and all-white flowers imbued the setting with a formal feel. Guests then moved to the cocktail and dinner reception overlooking Seven Mile Beach, complete with a dance floor spread out under the stars. The effect was a wedding that combined the best of both worlds: formal, then festive. Hundreds of yards of flowing white fabric created a modern look at the entrance and cocktail area of the reception. Guests were invited to take their time as they made their way to tables formally set with stunning exotic floral centerpieces and lit by soft candlelight. The overall effect created an inviting setting on the deck overlooking the white sands and clear blue water of the beach. Guests partied the night away with dancing and lounging, and then came together the next day for a post-wedding brunch to round out the weekend's festivities. When planning a wedding that includes a significant distance between the ceremony and the reception, as in this case, it is imperative to set, and agree on, a timeline so that everyone is on the same page the day of the wedding. modern south beach celebration w e n d y & s a c h a
