49 When a Caribbean boy married his sweet Georgia peach, a cohesive look created to pay homage to each of their heritages made for a chic soiree right on the beach. Designing a wedding for two different personalities always presents a challenge, and when the mother-of-the-groom wanted to ensure that the beach wedding communicated reverence for the event, open communication and a little out-of-the-box thinking became even more important. A "chapel on the beach" was created using Celebrations, Ltd.'s design and décor pieces to suggest a religious space for the ceremony, while still giving the bride and groom the beach wedding of their dreams. The couple absolutely loved the idea—it was the best of both worlds. Capitalizing on the organic look of Seven Mile Beach, the team embellished the site with lighting, flowers, and décor that included plenty of vintage Georgia details. Soft hues, warm woods, and lights hanging from the trees turned the beach into an eclectic, dream-like wonderland once the sun set. The bar area had a very Caribbean feel, while the breathtaking array of sweets at the dessert station—complete with cakes made of flowers—wowed guests who just couldn't get enough. Catering was laid out in a very informal way, communicating the relaxed and easygoing feel the couple wanted to convey to their friends and family who danced the night away under a canopy of sea grape trees. The entire wedding weekend was packed full of events. A rehearsal and welcome dinner two nights before the wedding helped acquaintances become friends, while ensuring the bride and groom knew just want to expect on the big day. There was even an after-party luncheon the day after the wedding.
