When a Caribbean beauty and her English gentleman decided
to tie the knot, the quaint small town of Keswick was the perfect
place for their destination wedding. Set in the Lake District of
Cumbria, United Kingdom, the wedding epitomized vintage
opulence and grace with overflowing flower arrangements,
vintage cars, and breathtaking settings. Sprawling hills and
abundant greenery set the stage for the week-long event
that included a boat excursion, high tea at an old castle, the
rehearsal dinner and wedding, and a "recovery luncheon" the
day after the wedding.
The bride's favorite color, a deep, rich red, was incorporated in
the ceremony and reception; scarlet roses even cascaded down
the wedding cake. Vintage cars were a must, as was the groom's
request for beer on tap at the wedding reception, and great
consideration was taken to ensure that the little town could
accommodate all of the needs of the wedding party and guests.
Intricate lace, dainty pearls, rich red, pretty pink, and playful
orange flowers, and gold accents combined to reinforce
the vintage fairytale theme of the wedding. Tropical accents
reminded guests of the Caribbean while crimson peonies added
a touch of old-fashioned romance to the events. Gossamer lace
and the sweeping lines of the reception tent added a softness
that offset the bold colors chosen by the bride, who looked just
like a princess on her big day.
