Organic, rustic romance with an intimate feel. When the bride
wanted a warm, personal wedding overlooking the water at
Pedro St. James Castle, a rather large venue, rethinking the
space was absolutely necessary. To create the feeling of a family
gathering, the ceremony was kept elegant and simple. Lush
exotic greens intermingled within the bride's bouquet and a
custom handmade three-tiered chandelier made of moss, woven
willow, Italian ruscus, and cascading amaranthus added organic
charm. The cocktail reception following the ceremony was staged
on the lawn immediately in front of the main dinner tent to offer
guests a smaller scale, private experience. Later, as guests dined
and danced, the cocktail area was restaged as a dessert station,
ready for the couple to cut the cake.
As with many wedding receptions, dancing was very important
to the couple, so the dinner table was laid out in a U-shape so
that everyone enjoyed spectacular views of the dance floor,
the newlyweds, and, of course, each other. Everyone felt like a
treasured guest and like they were an important part of the event.
The next morning, guests were invited to brunch and a boat trip
to conclude the weekend's events, making the wedding feel even
more like a large family reunion.
While the bride was apprehensive about planning an exotic
wedding on Grand Cayman, careful planning and open
communication from the very first meeting to the day of helped
her enjoy her special day carefree and confidently. Although it
looked simple to the guests, meticulous planning, complete with
a backup plan—imperative for outdoor weddings—helped the
team pull off a flawlessly elegant vintage wedding. The couple
couldn't have been happier!
