"Bringing the outdoors in is more than just flooding the space with natural light.
It's the mingling of stone, wood, steel, and the human elements that make it a
truly special integration."
– Suzanne Allen Sabo
ABOVE LEFT & ABOVE RIGHT: Barn doors at the hall between the catering
kitchen, pantry, and bar allow the owners to close off parts of the home
when entertaining. Nine-foot entry doors to the primary suite were
custom designed by the firm and lead into the owners' retreat, flooded
with natural light. Reclaimed European oak flooring with a natural, matte
finish runs throughout the home.
FACING PAGE TOP: Custom walnut and zinc cabinets feature a one-of-a-
kind cabinet design that includes a waney edge to the walnut boards,
which was juxtaposed with the sleek zinc inlay. A steel cantilevered bar
countertop extends into the floor system to provide more structural
support, while Colorado grey granite with a drystack application adds
sculptural interest.
FACING PAGE BOTTOM: The piano became a natural centerpiece of the
home, positioned between the great room and the dining room. It is also
centered on the front door, so it's the first thing visitors see when they
walk into the home.
