While it's a small space, happiness pervades its entirety thanks to bright pops of pink, a playful mosaic cabinet accented with geometric mirrors, and a paper and Lucite art piece of the image of birds flying through a cotton-candy-hued sky. Photograph by Scout Guide ABOVE RIGHT: The side room, located off of a main living salon in a Palm Beach, Florida residence, is all about reflection—literally. Two walls are completely rendered in glass to overlook the waterfront outside while a third mirrored wall replicates the view. Sheer draperies ensure that none of the fresh, light-filled quality is lost. Glossy marble flooring adds even more of a reflective quality. Photograph by Mark Salisbury FACING PAGE: A formal yet flexible dining room was in order for a homeowner in Greensboro, North Carolina who entertains frequently. Elegantly upholstered, comfortable chairs with iron bases were designed to seamlessly flow into the living room to create additional space for an open cocktail party setting. A meshing of different periods and patterns adds a layered sense of depth to the space, where the 18th century antique sideboard blends with the delicate edge of a chandelier and the modern curves of the silver nickel and wood dining table. Abstract paintings play off the subtle, woven animal pattern of the chairs and the floral rug. Photograph by Mark Salisbury
