5 ABOVE: The blended Asian and American heritage of the homeowners inspired the use of Asian accent pieces throughout the home, including a pair of crane illustrations in the formal dining room. Designed for entertaining, the room can easily seat 10 to accommodate a large and multigenerational extended family. FACING PAGE: Featuring a modern twist on tradition, the main living areas seamlessly integrate into the home's classic Georgian style, designed by renowned Atlanta architect William T. Baker. A neutral palette of warm gray tones and mixed metals plays beautifully with the transitional furnishings that were specifically selected for their ability to maintain a sense of fresh relevance for years to come. i n t e r i o r d e s i g n PREVIOUS PAGES: A full renovation of the kitchen was one of the centerpiece projects of this remodeled, 5,100-square-foot home in the Buckhead area of Atlanta, Georgia. While the original kitchen was well-designed for cooking, the back of the island was an organic, undulating shape that prohibited conversation. By turning it into an L-shape and engineering a quarter-round table top, it became a far more effective space for feeding and withstanding the family's two active boys. The emphasis on clean, modern lines is demonstrated through the linear, water-etched stone and glossy nickel, while an early 20th century sea glass light fixture adds a storied layer to the space.
