ABOVE: The home's study takes a more lighthearted approach to what
can be a traditionally heavy room. Sturdier, masculine furnishings are
balanced with the textural edge of thin cork wall covering, gracefully
curved lamps, and a quirky white rhinoceros mount that pays homage
to the owners' sense of humor. Antique oriental wall panels add another
layer of depth.
FACING PAGE TOP: The master bedroom suite is a peaceful haven where the
monochromatic palette still boasts plenty of visual interest. The artwork
on the walls was custom-printed to echo the breezy window treatments
that feature a tonal tree motif.
FACING PAGE BOTTOM: Accessories boasting bold colors serve to introduce
an intentionally bright splash of vibrancy to the serene gray tones of
the living room. Yet they can be readily edited and replaced to reflect
changing styles or mood. The turquoise urns on the mantel are from the
1930s.

"There is an incredible depth and patina to be gained by incorporating old, antique
items into a more contemporary space."
