This diversity springs from our varied soils and distinct geographical
regions as well as the people who have come to Washington State to join
our dynamic wine industry. Through their dedication to the expression of
a distinct sense of place in every bottle, Washington wines have earned
global recognition. And yet, for all of their critical and commercial success,
Washington grape growers and winemakers have not lost their humility and
collegiality. It is still common to enter a tasting room and be greeted with a
firm handshake and a full glass by the winemaker himself.
