C U STO M B U I L D E R 223 LEFT & BELOW: To preserve the views as much as possible, the nearly 1,500-square-foot floating home features an interior built without structural posts. Instead, two steel trusses provide support for the entire structure. Sapele wood covers the floors, ceilings, and walls. Local blacksmith Jim Garrett hand-forged all the bronze handrails inside and on the exterior of the home. FACING PAGE TOP: Clad in poplar bark siding from North Carolina, the floating house also features a Xero Flor living roof that absorbs rainwater. FACING PAGE BOTTOM: A small bridge leads guests from the dock to the main entry. Curved bronze handrails above decorate the balcony. Photographs by Northlight Photography
