TOP: Dubbed the Cliff House, the nearly 5,000-square-foot
two-level home was built to maximize the views of the river to
the east, south, and west. A window wall that can withstand
gale-force winds faces the river, while guests enter the home
on the opposite side, at the top level, via a simple-span
bridge that extends out from the front of the site. The bridge
embraces an existing massive fir, which helps mark the front
door. Structural steel, cedar siding, and a wealth of windows
make this home a masterpiece.

RIGHT & FACING PAGE BOTTOM: A jewel in the heart of
Portland Heights, the home is built with six different floor
levels. Originally built in 1928, the home was remodeled and
received an addition in 2015. Light floods the entryway, while
generous windows throughout the home capitalize on the
views. Now at 3,288 square feet, the home includes a master
bedroom block that extends over the backyard, creating both
architectural interest and a shaded play area for the family.
