A R C H I T E CT U R E 303 Jeffrey L.Miller Architect,PC Few architects are as open to so many architectural styles—and able to capture their essence—as Jeffrey L. Miller Architect, PC. His diverse portfolio reflects his passion for architecture and his skill at designing high-end residences that reflect not only distinctive historical and geographic context, but also the people who call the houses home. From desert residences in the style of Spanish villas to Tudor-inspired manor houses, contemporary abodes and beyond, Jeffrey Miller has been designing award-winning homes for over three decades. Inspired both by the homeowner and the vernacular, Jeffrey's boutique firm is focused on the people who are impacted by the architecture and, of course, how that architecture interacts with nature. Delving into the passions and visions of his clients from the first meeting, Jeffrey begins to reveal a style and design that fits their lives as it capitalizes on the extraordinary landscape of the region. Jeffrey's first project upon graduation—he holds degrees from Boston University and the University of Washington—was to build a French Country house for his grandmother. Although his Pacific Northwest education included ample styles of contemporary and modern architecture, he was not about to shy away from his beloved grandmother's dream home just because he had less exposure to it. So, in much the same way that he does today, Jeffrey dived into studying the style and crafted a home that is the perfect representation of her vision. The completed home garnered so much attention that clients began to seek out Jeffrey for their own needs. Since then, homeowners have been singing his praises and marvel at how well Jeffrey understands them in a way that exceeds even the highest expectations. Balance is key in the design and can be seen in the gently arched windows, the Old World-style garage doors, lanterns, and graceful rooflines. Photograph courtesy of Jeffrey L.
