ABOVE: Built on a nine-acre lot, the Meadow House overlooks
a long meadow and the Cascades in the distance. Board and
batten siding in natural and red stains, charcoal stucco, and
a slightly weathered cool vintage corrugated metal roof make
the exterior of the home a visual feast. A pergola extends from
the dining room on the left side, adjacent to a small covered
patio with fireplace, and a larger, wrap-around patio on the
opposite end.
RIGHT: The timber frame entry extends to the driveway where
lush landscaping greets visitors. A curved path meets the
kitchen's covered porch where the family's children spend
their afternoons completing homework.
FACING PAGE TOP: The kitchen features soapstone
countertops, cherry cabinets crafted by a local cabinet maker,
and a custom range hood made by a local metal artist.
FACING PAGE BOTTOM: Looking in from the pergola, one is
greeted by the dining room and its beautiful timber ceilings
above. To the left is the kitchen and to the right is the living
room. Custom railings crafted by the same artist who created
the range hood in the kitchen adorn the stairway. Soft blue
walls contrast with the timber frame elements and the radiant
heated concrete floor.
