ABOVE LEFT: The owner of a home on the river found a
floorplan she loved, but with an elevation that just did not
resonate with her. Freeman Architects redesigned the
exterior of the home and used more affordable materials
inside to accommodate the owner's budget. Knotty cedar
and hand-selected light fixtures accent the stairway. Above,
Masonite turned so that the back faces out adds a creative
curved feature to the cubbies without breaking the bank.
ABOVE RIGHT: The airy feel of the renovated rambler
is unmistakable inside where a neutral color palette
and natural materials contribute to the overall peaceful
environment.
FACING PAGE: A spacious deck allows the owners of the
renovated rambler to enjoy meals outdoors.

design feature may look
impossible on paper, but
with enough time and
ingenuity, you might build
something unique."
