A R C H I T E CT U R E 103 Oasis Design When is architecture more than just creating distinctive homes? When it's designed by Oasis Design, led by principal and founder, James Haasdyk. Since its founding in 1991, the award- winning firm has been winning homeowners over to its unique approach to design. Following a proven creative process, James and his team work with clients from pre-design throughout the entire project in a way that inspires trust and confidence on the part of the homeowners and results in incredibly unique homes. With a background not only in drafting and design, but also hands-on construction, James believes the best designs come from the collaboration between the owner, designer, and construction team. Interior design is key as well, and James encourages owners to bring an interior designer on to the project early on, so that he can integrate the interior detailing into the design to ensure a cohesive home, inside and out. Hailing from a family of design professionals, James believes that a hands-on approach guarantees that a home is built right the first time. He's often on-site to support the construction process and offer his advice if a homeowner wants to change something up during the building phase. For James, it's all a part of building people's dreams and providing a home that enhances their lives. Each Oasis Design home captures the ingenuity that James brings to the project and the intriguing personalities of his clients. Even years after they've moved in, owners rave about their home with love and appreciation that only come from partnering with a professional who understands their true desires. That's why he named his firm Oasis Design—from start to finish he ensures his work is like a dream come true for homeowners.
