TOP LEFT & FACING PAGE TOP: The kitchen, dining room,
and living room all flow into one another, where high-tech
features showcase the couple's love of modern technology.
In the kitchen, the island is a stone fabricator's marvel with its
curved forms and spaceship-like floating design, while the
open flame fireplace that separates the dining area from the
living room is open on each side, without visible supports
or glass to interrupt the façade. Above, floating ceilings with
randomized light cove cutouts in a knife-edge profile add to
the contemporary feel.
MIDDLE LEFT: A fire pit and ample outdoor seating make the
Vancouver home's deck a favorite place to gather. Extra care
was taken when building the supporting structure for the deck
to ensure that it could hold the weight of the hot tub since this
is directly over the bedroom of the client's precious daughter.
Aluminum and glass railings allow for virtually uninterrupted
views over the rooftops of nearby houses.
BOTTOM LEFT & FACING PAGE BOTTOM: In the basement of
the home, the man cave features multiple seating options
as well as architectural features that evoke images of star
travel. Long slatted ceilings lead to the bar area at the back
of the space where a white wave-like ceiling continues down
the wall to frame the bar. The custom blue glass bar pulls
inspiration from the blue used on Grey Goose Vodka bottles.
The spirit is a favorite of the owner.
