I N T E R I O R D E S I G N 75 ABOVE: Before the apartment was rebuilt, the kitchen was small and dark, located right inside the entry. Now the kitchen sits near the center of the home with incredible views of the city. Dropped ceiling panels made from maple allow for the new kitchen's plumbing and electrical lines. Zebra wood veneer and an all-glass backsplash combine with the small European appliances to create an artful space. Photograph by Keith Henderson FACING PAGE TOP: Intermind Design completed the architecture, building, and interior design of the Lost Lake project. The 6,000-square-foot home features an enormous basement and upper levels that get smaller as they rise. Two tones of gray and a deep red paint finish the Hardie panel outside in an artistic way. Multiple outdoor living areas allow for flexible entertainment spaces. Photograph by Martin Knowles FACING PAGE BOTTOM: Red and gray mix playfully on the walls of the kitchen, which can be seen immediately upon walking in the front door. By integrating the indoors and outdoors in design features, the home feels more cohesive. Photograph by Martin Knowles "Bring the outdoors in and take the indoors out whenever possible. The merging of the two creates such a soothing balance." –Mila Djuras
