RIGHT: To ensure minimal impact to the surrounding natural
environment, the Lighthouse Residence floats over the site
with a cantilevered effect. Part of the beauty of the home
comes in its sleek, streamlined design in juxtaposition with
the rough, coastal environment.
BOTTOM: The homeowners are known to host a fair number
of large dinner parties, so the robust kitchen and spacious,
bronze-clad island beckons guests to linger and very much
serves as the heart of the main house. Careful attention was
paid to the materials used in the design, with cedar, fir, and
mixed metals all referencing natural tones that are meant to
take on a patina in time. Large, sliding glass doors show off
the rock garden outside.
