they have also helped to spearhead J. Lohr's commitment to sustainability in both winegrowing and winemaking. A longtime advocate of such environmentally conscious practices as organic soil amendments, water conservation and composting, J. Lohr set a new industry standard when it unveiled its three-acre solar tracking array at its Paso Robles winemaking facility in 2009. As the largest tracking array in the wine industry, this system will reduce CO 2 emissions by almost 30,000 tons during its 25-year lifespan—the equivalent to not driving 97,000,000 miles. Today, J. Lohr remains one of the few estate-focused wineries of its size, and one of the last substantial independents. Though it is operated with the loving care of a boutique winery, J.
