Of significant interest are the hand-painted murals that
adorn the parlor ceiling and the dining room walls.
The murals, reflecting her travels through Europe,
were painted by Sue who studied art in Europe. The
classical style of the 1800s, so typical of the Victorian
era, greatly influenced her work.
LEFT – This magnificent Queen Anne Victorian boasts many fine architectural
details typical to the style and era. There is an elaborate turret, tower, steep
pitched roofs and several wrap around balconies.
TOP – The large foyer is open to the stair hall where a magnificent staircase
leading to the second floor includes an ornate presentation landing which had
been removed at some time in the past and stored beneath the house. The
former owners discovered it and restored it to its original location.
RIGHT - The towering pillars in the foyer are constructed of long leaf pine and
crowned by roman ionic capitals.
