Deep in the heart of cattle country, a few miles south
of Gonzales is the headquarters of the Circle Bar Blue
Ranch where noted interior designer, Zoe Murphy
Compton calls home.
Zoe's talent shines in the home she created for herself
on the ranch. She took a 1920s farmhouse originally
located near Yorktown, Texas, and moved it to its current
location on her ranch. It is comfortable and cowboy-
chic but has a subtle, elegant flair she has successfully
created with her tasteful decorating appointments and
vast collections of antique furnishings and eclectic
accessories acquired from her travels to the far reaches
of the world.
The heart of the home is the original farm house where
the finishes of the original living room and kitchen
were restored. The turquoise ceiling is original as are the
walls of the living room which were cleaned and clear
coated to retain their original luster. The original long
leaf pine floors were refinished further maintaining the
original character of the home. The home restoration/
renovation was done entirely of recycled materials. The
original exterior beveled board-and-batten siding was
