85 FACING PAGE TOP - Kitchen. Modern kitchen amenities are incorporated into the cowboy chic kitchen which is accented by original turquoise ceilings. FACING PAGE BOTTOM - Living room. Original pine paneled walls are the background for the owner's comfortable living room which includes several of her collections of bronze sculptures. RIGHT - Dining Room. Originally a grain bin, this structure has been transformed into an eclectic and elegant formal dining room. Featured on the walls are photographs from the 1940s taken by John Hoffman who photographed many western ranches. Sconces are from the owner's personally designed lighting collection, ZMC Limited Lighting Collection, Ltd. ABOVE - This spacious retreat includes all of the modern comforts. Pictured are a French walnut cabinet from the early 18th century and the large antique shell encrusted mirror reflects and armoire dated 1741 which was personally restored by the owner. Wallpapers are English created by Osbourne and Little. Photographs by Zoe Murphy Compton. removed and used to craft all of the interior doors. Rock mined from the ranch in addition to cypress siding salvaged from Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, Louisiana, was shipped to Texas and used for the exterior. Three bedrooms, a sitting room and three bathrooms were added to the home. Perhaps the most interesting feature of the home is the formal dining room. It was crafted from a grain bin found on the side of the road near Seguin, Texas, and moved to the ranch. It was attached to the house, insulated and finished on the inside with burlap with a skim coat plaster. It boasts a massive iron chandelier salvaged from the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, train station complemented with Venetian crystal sconces. The flagstone flooring was mined from the ranch and showcases an antique Persian Serapi carpet. Centering the room is an English drop leaf table surrounded by chairs upholstered in embroidered velvet crewel fabric and Rose Tarlow coverlets. Eclectic accessories fill the home giving it an elegant touch. such as a silver tureen from the King Ranch and a collection of mid- 1800s French bronze sculptures by Mene and Isidore Bonheur and from the Moigniez Designers Collection. These sculptures are all included in the book, Animals in Bronze, by Christopher Payne. The master bedroom and bath were added to create a large comfortable retreat including a large soaking tub and steam shower. These rooms feature wallpaper by Osbourne and Little, and an antique Heriz rug.
