97 FACING PAGE - Living room. The fireplace is limestone imported from France which surrounds the original brick firebox. The rug is a Kars Oushak from Turkey. The chandelier is the sister to the one in the dining room, also crafted by the same European craftsman. Ceiling papers are by Bradbury and Bradbury and wall coverings by Osbourne and Little. ABOVE - Dining room. The chandelier was crafted by a well-known European craftsman and is adorned by rock crystal and Austrian lead crystals. The upper portion of the fireplace at the end of the room (not shown) is exposed original Gonzales brick. The elegant round dining table rests upon an antique Kars Oushak rug from Turkey. RIGHT - Entry Parlor. This elegantly appointed room is an extension of the living room including an original pine staircase. On the landing is an antique tall case clock from France circa mid 1800's. At the base of the stairs is a grand piano whose bold elegant lines center the room. Photographs by Zoe Murphy Compton. year restoration/renovation. Care was given to retain and enhance the much intact historic integrity of the exterior while extensive updating of the interior has been done to reflect her client's personal taste and preferences. All of the ceilings are covered in Bradbury and Bradbury wallcoverings specifically designed for their Historical Wall Art Collection. It is a series of three papers patterned to accentuate the architectural molding of the ceilings. The walls of the entry parlor and living room are covered in Osbourne and Little wallcoverings in subtle patterns complimenting the ceilings. Wainscoting and ceiling moldings in the dining room installed by the former owner were painted to compliment the new décor. Hallway and kitchen walls are covered in French wallpaper depicting a fun, but tasteful Country French motif. Centering the entry parlor and dining rooms are stunning hand-forged and hand-painted chandeliers created by a European craftsman who was in business in Dallas, Texas, for over 50 years. They are embellished by quartz rock crystals and Austrian lead crystals imported from Europe. The living room and dining room feature limestone fireplace surrounds imported from France. The interior of the fireplaces are original and are of Gonzales brick. Original lighting for the house had been removed by previous owners, however a collection of original American Victorian fixtures were located in a Northeastern US warehouse. These are fixtures were originally gas and converted to electricity and include beautifully etched glass. They are featured in the kitchen, hallways and bedrooms.
