Succession Wines
LAKE CHELAN
"You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough," Mae West once
said. The inspiring words of the inimitable Old Hollywood actress are ones
to which Succession Wines owners and founders Erica and Brock Lindsay
wholeheartedly subscribe, as they know the beauty of embracing each day
and living every moment to the fullest.
Indeed, it is this passion that fuels the couple and acts as a guiding philosophy
for them. It's also a philosophy that they were challenged to actually put
into practice when two major life events rocked their worlds. In 2014, they
welcomed their first child, a daughter, and not two weeks later, they lost their
home in the Carlton Complex wildfires.
But, one could say, that it was those two monumental moments that brought
them to where they are today—in Washington State, with Succession Wines.
Erica and Brock took the good and the bad and used it as an opportunity for
replenished strength, significant reflection, and a renewed focus on what is
most important in their lives and in their personal journeys. For them, family
needed to come first. As they prepared to welcome a second daughter, the
love for their growing family and a desire to live a more balanced life—not
to mention their passion for great wine—led them back to North Central
Washington and their winery was established.
As for the name of their winery, "succession" means the order of things, and
it's a term that has special meaning and multidimensional impact for the
couple.
