working in the financial industry. The Bear Market Club offers
12 bottles per year, while the Bull has 24. Both have big wine
savings, and include complimentary tastings, access to limited
production and library wines, plus advance invitations to all
of the club events. Members will get to sample the Unicorn
release, an edition which will sell out quickly and is named after
the stock market term for companies worth a billion dollars
or more. Other market references include wine names such
as Acquisition, Dividend, Merval—Argentina's stock exchange,
Derivative, and Basis Points. Over the years, the clubs have
gained a loyal following, with some members belonging since
the winery's inception.
With the intent of always keeping a boutique feel, Market
Vineyards produces roughly 3,000 cases annually. The idea is
to keep an eye on a smaller production to maintain the highest
quality and attention to detail. This approach has gotten some
attention, as Market Vineyards wines have been served at James
Beard dinner events by some of the country's top restaurants.
Market Vineyards also features ideal space for events, including
weddings, reunions, meetings, and parties. The venue is
intimate, scenic, and obviously has some of the Washington's
best wines on hand.
