Today's management team increased the number of grape
customers and further refined the running of the vineyards
to reflect changing market conditions. Sagemoor customers
represent the largest of Washington State wineries, as well as
boutique operations. Many of the winemaking clients actively
participate in viticulture decision-making within their preferred
blocks to reach their own flavor-profile goals. Precision farming
techniques such as vigor mapping, soil profiling, variety
selection, row orientation, and selected harvest techniques are
used to manage yields, balance canopy with crop load, optimize
sun exposure, and ensure consistent quality fruit.
The variance in soil, climate, and sunlight across the five vineyards
gives Sagemoor the ability to coax a range of characteristics
from the grapes: from elegant to powerful, with soft or
muscular tannins, from dried herbs and spice, to a spectrum
