DeLille Cellars
WOODINVILLE
With an eye toward creating Bordeaux blends from Washington State
vineyards, Charles and Greg Lill, Jay Soloff, and celebrated winemaker Chris
Upchurch founded DeLille Cellars in 1992. Chris and Jay shared a passion for
wine—Chris had been making wine for many years and Jay ran a successful
wine brokerage business—and the Lill family owned a hobby farm that
became the original winery site. Upon its founding, DeLille Cellars became the
fifth winery in Woodinville, and since then has helped establish the state as a
premier wine region. The team has always looked to Red Mountain (the home
of their estate vineyard, Grand Ciel) and the state's most celebrated vineyards
with a focus on blending the powerful, concentrated and structured fruit of
Washington to express the unique terroir of the region. With a tradition of
excellence and high acclaim, DeLille Cellars was named the "Lafite Rothschild
of Washington" and awarded a 5-star/outstanding rating by Robert Parker.
Drawing from French architecture, the Chateau offers guests a charming
taste of the Lill family's European heritage. Open for private events only, the
Chateau is a beautiful setting for milestone celebrations. Daily wine tastings
are held in the quaint Carriage House Tasting Room in Woodinville, where
award-winning selections from DeLille's portfolio are available for tastings.
Finally, the modern wine lounge in Kirkland, Maison DeLille, offers guests the
chance to purchase wine by the glass or bottle, or sample multiple varieties
at once with wine flights and light bites.
