14 Hands Winery
PROSSER
Named for the unbridled spirit of the wild horses that once roamed eastern
Washington, 14 Hands Winery represents the frontier energy of the American
West. Measuring just 14 hands high—a traditional metric for determining a
horse's height—the region's wild horses thrived in the rugged landscape
much like the grapes of 14 Hands wine do today: with tenacity and spirit.
Since 2005, 14 Hands has been winning over its fans through its vibrant and
approachable wines. In 2014, a dedicated winery and tasting room in Prosser,
Washington, was completed to charm guests from all over the world.
Winemaker Keith Kenison has been with 14 Hands since the beginning, crafting
world-class wines that are appreciated by fans and acknowledged by top
wine publications. Keith's passion for wine is apparent; it's not uncommon to
find him walking the vineyards and tasting the fruit. His approach is practical,
allowing the fruit to express itself with as few manipulations as possible to
preserve the integrity of the product. The goal is to produce wine that pleases
the customer first, and the winery has done just that.
14 Hands wines are known for their big, fruit-forward reds and crisp, juicy
whites. The portfolio features a wide range of wines that can be enjoyed at
any occasion including a reserve tier, red and white blends, and even bubbly.
Tastings are available daily at the charmingly rustic tasting room, where the
essence of Horse Heaven Hills serves as the backdrop for seasonal events and
guest education.
