Amavi Cellars
WALLA WALLA
Wineries often start with an individual's passion for wine. At Amavi Cellars,
the love of wine and the passion for life are apparent. From the Zen-like Walla
Walla tasting room to the very name itself—Amavi represents love, "amor,"
and life, "vita"—everything about the winery is focused on the experience of
enjoying wine. Founded by Pepper Bridge Winery's same three families, the
Goffs, Pellets, and McKibbens, Amavi Cellars' first vintage was 2001, released
in 2003. As members of the Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance, the Amavi
Cellars family views winemaking as a lifestyle, working for the growth of the
region and showcasing the unique qualities of the Walla Walla Valley.
The winery prides itself on 100 percent estate grown fruit, 100 percent
sustainability, and being 100 percent Walla Walla. Amavi Cellars wines are
made from grapes grown in six vineyards: Pepper Bridge, Les Collines, Seven
Hills, Octave, Summit View, and Goff, and the focus is on crafting exceptional
wine while preserving the environment. Dedicated to responsible stewardship
and committed to leaving the land better for future generations, the Amavi
Cellars team prioritizes the balance between environmental, economic, and
social factors involved in the process of growing grapes and producing wine.
Part of that mission of sustainability means that Amavi Cellars has, since the
beginning, sourced grapes only from the Walla Walla Valley. Eric McKibben,
General Manager, and siblings are second generation partners in the winery
and share the same family philosophy and lifestyle.
