Signature Wines and Wineries of Washington
Two estate vineyards—Kenny Hill and Lewis—provide the
foundation for Dunham Cellars wines. The Kenny Hill Estate
Vineyard, named in honor of Winegrower Ken Hart, is located
just a few miles east of the winery and spans 68 acres on a
sloped, south-facing parcel of land. Fruit from this vineyard
exhibits gorgeous concentration and vibrant acidity, thanks
to cool temperatures from the nearby Blue Mountains. Here,
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Malbec, Petit Verdot,
Grenache, and Chardonnay thrive.
The Lewis Estate Vineyard is nestled in the foothills of
Rattlesnake Ridge in the Columbia Valley Appellation. The small
family-owned vineyard managed by Betty Lewis and son Ken Jr.,
in close coordination with Ken Hart, includes 55 acres of grapes:
Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Riesling, and Chardonnay.
Dunham Cellars' inaugural 1999 Syrah was the first crop from
Lewis Estate Vineyard, and it was simply remarkable.
