With complete control over the winemaking process starting
in the vineyards, Dunham Cellars ensures every bottle best
expresses balance through its varietal character and terroir.
That balance is apparent in every glass of Dunham Cellars wine
when guests visit the winery in the Walla Walla Airport District.
Maysy and Sadie, the two beloved winery dogs, escort visitors
to the doors of the winery through a landscaped courtyard.
Inside, two rooms await, offering two different experiences—
the tasting bar and the Hangar Lounge. The tasting bar itself
is a one-ton polished slab of Morton Gneiss, one of the oldest
types of stone on Earth, and there is plenty of eclectic wine-
centric merchandise available for purchase.
Through a large wooden door is the Hangar Lounge, where
stunning artwork from Eric Dunham is showcased. The room
is a renovated World War II-era hangar and is anchored by
an enormous custom-made glass bottle tree. Occasionally
during harvest, one of the original sliding doors is opened, to
allow visitors to witness the crush pad where grapes begin
their journey. Events include the Spring Kick-Off Weekend
the first weekend of April, Spring Release Weekend the
first weekend of May, Dunham Days! on the last weekend in
August, Fall Release Weekend the first weekend of November,
and the Holiday Barrel Tasting Weekend on the first weekend
in December.
