Henry Earl Estate Wines
WALLA WALLA
Born from two families that know the lessons of hard work and what it takes
to produce superior wines, comes Henry Earl Estate Wines. The name honors
he owners' fathers, Henry Shaw and Earl West. The winery is dedicated
to making wines that reflect the unique character and quality of our Red
Mountain vineyards.
Henry Earl Estate Wines was only a dream back in 1981 when Dick Shaw
planted 100 acres of vines near Mattawa. Together with his wife Wendy, the
Shaws have now planted more than 3,000 acres in eastern Washington, more
than 500 of which are located in the Red Mountain AVA. In 2014, Dick and
Wendy brought their love of Washington wines to Walla Walla. Located in the
historic Kennedy building in the heart of downtown, the Henry Earl Estates
tasting room and wine bar embodies the energy of Walla Walla with a casual,
laid back atmosphere. Guests are invited to come and sample wines, paired
with a menu of small plates such as a fruit and cheese board, hummus and
olives, and a selection of sweet treats.
The wines at Henry Earl focus on the Bordeaux varietals from Red Mountain.
They produce a Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Homesteader
(a red blend), Cabernet Franc, and three Cabernet Sauvignons from each of
the vineyards.
