Sleight of Hand Cellars
WALLA WALLA
One would be hard-pressed to find a winery that didn't take winemaking
seriously, but at Sleight of Hand Cellars, serious wine without serious attitudes
is more than a slogan; it's a way of life. With wine names like The Enchantress,
The Spellbinder, and Psychedelic Syrah, and with turntables and LP's in each
tasting room, the winery is full of fun and a few surprises. Founded in 2007
by Trey Busch and Jerry and Sandy Solomon, Sleight of Hand Cellars stands
out in the industry with its world-class wines, iconic label art, and "cut-loose,"
over-the-top tasting room experience. Named one of "The Next Generation"
wineries of Washington State and one of "The Next Cult Wineries" by Seattle
Magazine, along with being rated as having the most-fun tasting room in
Washington State by multiple publications, Sleight of Hand is a winery for the
modern age.
Using a combination of estate and non-estate vineyards from some of the
best sites in the state, the winemaking team of Jerry Solomon, Trey Busch,
and Keith Johnson crafts wines that get better every year, causing industry
experts like the Wine Advocate to gush: "While I've always loved the wines
from these guys, they've hit a new level recently, and the wines are now up
there with the crème de la crème of the state (and beyond)."
Since the winery's founding, Busch and the Solomons have seen their dream
grow from a small rented storefront location to a full-blown tasting room and
production facility, and then the expansion to a tasting room in the SODO
