FACING PAGE – This wall mural graces the foyer and is original to the home
having been purchased in New Orleans when the home was built. Below the
painting and up the staircase is original lincrusta above the wainscoting
ABOVE – Foyer. This foyer boast an elegant curved stairway leading to the
second floor. The room is centered by an original banquett surrounding a
large fluted column. The fireplace mantel and tile surround is original as are
the intricate parquet floors. The edge of the room is in a Greek key pattern of
oak, pecan and walnut.
RIGHT – This magnificent view of the foyer shows the second wall mural also
purchased in New Orleans when the home was built. The ornate plaster
medallion is also original to the home.

dining room, banquet room, living room and foyer
hang from elaborately carved medallions matching the
molding around the rooms. Two wall murals painted
on canvas, purchased in New Orleans when the house
was built, still grace the foyer.
J.D. "Dunn" Houston sold the house in 1901 to banker
G.N. Dilworth and left town. The Persons family
owned the house for many years and it is now owned
by Gary and Ronda Miller Brecosky.
