Many dedicated people had a hand in making this book a reality. Many countless and tireless hours were put in by the members of the Gonzales Historic Homes Associ- ation as well as other individuals and organizations. First and foremost, Paul and Vicki Frenzel who so gen- erously donated the fruits of their many hours of labor in researching the origins of most of Gonzales historic homes and the rich history of Gonzales. Paul published a book in 1999 titled Historic Homes of Gonzales which gives a history of most local homes of distinction built before 1923. ey have generously provided much of the historical dialogue which has made this book possible. Many thanks also go out to other members of Gonzales Historic Homes Association who have made significant contributions to the development of this book. Ann and Rew Covert, (W.H. Kokernot House), Dee Dee and Greg Sengelmann (Skinner House), Dawn and Al O'Donnell (Fannie Johnston House), Barbara and Richard Crozier (C.T. Rather House ) and Clinton Hille, Belle Oaks (C.E. Dilworth House). A whole hearted thank you goes out to the Gonzales Camera Club and professional photographers whose works are featured herein who have generously donated their time in creating the beautiful images you are about to enjoy. anks go out to the many homeowners who so gracious- ly opened their doors and have shared with the world a vision of the architectural treasures within. Also, to the homeowners who over the years have opened their homes for the annual historic homes tour during the an- nual Winterfest celebration. is is held annually on the first weekend in December and is the primary source of revenue for the HHA who donates all funds back to the community. And last but certainly not least, the Gonzales Conven- tion and Visitors Bureau for providing the final part of the funding enabling the Historic Homes Association to make this publication possible sooner versus later.
