BELOW: To reach the entry of the home, one actually drives through the pool structure with water cascading down the side walls and open to the sky
above. All roads are finished in hand-cut Italian porphyry stone.
FACING PAGE: The architect designed the home by model only, no two-dimensional drawings were used except the floor plan. This gave him time
to study each space and learn what is proper and relative to human scale for each room in the house. Working drawings were created after totally
scaling the study model. Mr. Applebaum designed all of the leaded-glass art throughout the house; one has to experience it in person to grasp how
impactful it is.
